President Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva has taken action by dismissing the deputy director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN), Alessandro Moretti, during Tuesday night. This removal comes in response to a decision by the Federal Supreme Court suggesting that during the term of former President Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2022), agents, resources, and equipment of the agency may have been used for political espionage against his opponents, as well as against judges and journalists.
